Born and raised in Charleston, Monica Ball grew up training in jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary and hip hop at United We Dance Studio in Summerville. She spent her early years on the elite competition team where she won various dance scholarships and awards at regional and national competitions. She has also been offered representation by many NY and LA based entertainment agencies.

She’s trained at USC’s Summer Dance Conservatory, Broadway Dance Center in NYC, Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles on scholarship and Millennium Dance Complex. Monica has also performed with the entertainment companies Calvin Gilmore Productions and Moranz Entertainment. She performed in Serenade, the Charleston Christmas Special, Let The Good Times Roll, Broadway Showstoppers, The Charleston Variety Show, and You’re The One That I Want: Tribute To The 50s and 60s. She has been working with Moranz Entertainment for over 15 years.

When she graduated from high school, she went to Winthrop University for one year as a Dance Performance major then was hired to perform with Holland America Cruise Line through a Los Angeles based entertainment company, Stiletto Entertainment. While doing Broadway style shows on the MS Maasdam, she traveled all over the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and Canada. After finishing her cruise line contract, Monica went back to school in Charleston to finish her degree. Monica has her B.A in Communication with a minor in Dance Performance from the College of Charleston.

Monica’s love for teaching grew through college and she now has been teaching and choreographing for 8 years all over Charleston and the Southeast. She has choreographed for the captain of the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, Woolfe Street Playhouse and continues to guest teach at many studios and high schools. Her choreography has won her dancers many regional awards at various dance competitions. Her TV credits include CBS’ Reckless and Lifetime’s Army Wives. Charleston continues to be home for Monica and she enjoys collaborating and performing with local artists. Monica hopes to not only train dancers to the best of their ability, but to also help them grow and strengthen their passion and love for dance.
