Amanda Christison
Amanda Christison is a classically trained ballet dancer from Lewisville, Texas. She received her primary dance education at The Ballet Conservatory, four time winner of Youth America Grand Prix’s ‘Outstanding School’ award, and danced with Lakecities Ballet Theatre from 2009-2014. During this time, Amanda attended summer intensives including American Ballet Theatre, New York and Boston Ballet. Amanda received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoeffer Family College of Fine Arts in May of 2018. Throughout her time at The University of Oklahoma, Amanda performed with Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma and received several honors including the Miguel Terekhov Ballet Choreography Award, the Juli Busken Memorial Scholarship, the Ballet Ovation Award for Excellence in Performance and the Yvonne Chateau Award for Outstanding Devotion to the Arts. Since moving to South Carolina in 2018, Amanda has danced professionally with Palmetto City Ballet and Unbound Ballet Project. She is now on faculty at Charleston County School of the Arts, Dance Conservatory of Charleston and enjoys teaching and choreographing for a number of local schools.
