We are thrilled to announce the next guest in our Master Class Series, Suki Schorer!
We will offer two classes for ages 12+, of an intermediate-advanced level: Friday December 15th, 2017, 6:30-8:00pm and Saturday December 16th, 10:30am-12:00pm.
Former principal dancer with New York City Ballet, Suki Schorer began teaching at George Balanchine’s request and has been an integral part of the School of American Ballet faculty since her permanent appointment in 1972. She is the author of numerous works on Balanchine’s technique and legacy, including Suki Schorer on Balanchine Technique and Balanchine Pointework, and is the recipient of the 1998 Dance Magazine Award, among other honors.
Suki has taught and coached thousands of professional dancers around the world today, including most of the faculty at Dance Conservatory of Charleston! Lindy and Deanna also had the honor of being selected by Suki to film instructional pointe class videos while students at the School of American Ballet. Here is a link to a snippet of a video, Lindy is in the aqua leotard.
