Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Bo Busby danced for top companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, and currently with Columbia City Ballet. He was awarded “Best Male Dancer” in 2000 and received the Grand Prix award (top in both classical and contemporary) in 2001 at Youth American Grand Prix Competition.
In 2000, he was accepted into the Stuttgart Academy in Stuttgart, Germany, where he studied under Pytor Pestov and performed a pa de deux from John Cranko’s Onegin. He also appeared in the Stuttgart Ballet’s production of The Sleeping Beauty featuring Vladimir Malakhov and Lucia Lacarra. His repertoire includes full-length story ballets such as John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, and James Kudelka’s Cinderella, as well as world premier works including Helen Pickett’s Eventide and Jorma Elo’s In On Blue and Le Sacre du Printemps.
His training includes: The Stuttgart Academy, Harid Conservatory, School of American Ballet, and Houston Ballet School.
