April 24 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 2:30pm on Wednesday, repeating until May 29, 2019
We will investigate many styles of “Modern” Dance, from some of the investigative ideas of Isadora Duncan, Mary Wigman, Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn to more well-defined styles, aka. techniques, and more well-known names of José Limón, Lestor Horton, Martha Graham, and more. Class emphasis will be on technique and body mechanics so that the styes of Modern Dance can be performed by the dancers at their highest level! We will discuss past and recent past history and of course consider the trends of today’s dance world. We will also “play” with improvisation which is so important in today’s dance world.
